OUR COMPANY
Waaij Stud was founded in the 1980s by the Van der Waaij family and started as a small-scale hobby breeding farm next to the dairy farm. At the end of the 1990s, the dairy farm was closed and the stables were increasingly filled with horses. In 1994, the mare Minola (Quick Star x Nimmerdor) was purchased as a foal and she made an important contribution to the development of Waaij Stud. Waaij Stud has been expanded since 2012 and every year about fifteen to twenty foals are reared and later trained for the sport. Since 2018, Jasper and Peter van der Waaij have been organizing the sport horse auction The Youngsters Auction at Waaij Stud and since then many horses from Waaij Stud have been sold all over the world.
OUR MISSION
At Waaij Stud we are always looking for quality horses for the future. We mainly concentrate on breeding and purchasing foals and try to breed fifteen to twenty horses each year. Since the start of The Youngsters Auction in 2018, several horses have been sold through the auction every year; ranging from three-year-old horses to seven-year-old show jumping horses. We also have a close collaboration with several professional show jumping riders to train our show jumping horses for international sport. Our mission is ultimately to produce show jumping horses for the highest level.
Since 2023, the stallion breeding branch has also been added to Waaij Stud. We have partnered up with Karel Cox Stallions from Belgium to offer the best Belgian showjumping stallions for Dutch breeding.
